Colour: Dark ruby red red of good intensity with a purple cherry colour and slow legs on the swirl.
Nose: Clean and complex developed aromas of Blueberry jam and plum, fig and a subtle forest floor nuance.
Palate: Clean developing full bodied flavours of fresh blackberry and warm toasty damson. A soft tannin impression across the palate gives way to a satisfying length of cherry toast and sweet coffee bean on the finish.
Winemaking: The fruit is harvested from two clones of mature merlot vines in section A & D on the estate vineyard. Traditional vinification techniques applied with minimal intervention to preserve its regional identity.
Food Pairing: Roast beef or slow cooked lamb shanks with potatoes.
Vintage Notes: Cool conditions in early spring enabled a subsequent long growing season. A warm dry summer subsided into ideal cooler autumn conditions prior to
harvest.
