Headspace 2019 Shiraz

COLOUR

Dark garnet purple red.

NOSE

Pronounced aromas of ripe forest berries: blueberry, blackberry, blackcurrant with subtle herbal and black pepper notes.

PALATE

Dense blackberry, cherry and blackcurrant liquor combine with cocoa and toasted hazelnut. A perfectly balanced wine with a clean long finish of raspberry conserve and freshly ground pepper.

WINEMAKING

Fermented in traditional small open top fermenters and hand plunged twice daily for to 10 days using a variety of yeasts. MLF was encouraged on skins and completed in tank prior to 9 months aging in old and new French hogsheads.

FOOD PAIRING

Roast lamb with seasonal vegetables.

VINTAGE NOTES

Cool conditions in early spring enabled a subsequent long growing season. A warm dry summer subsided into ideal cooler autumn conditions prior to harvest.
